How should I mike a touring choir for PA? |

I have to amplify a gospel choir for stage exhibitions. The choir is formed by 22-24 people on two levels: women front and men rear. How many mics should we use, and where should we put them?
Paolo Reply: We suggest that you use two cardioid condenser microphones (like the Crown CM-700). Place them 1/2 meter (1.5 feet) above the head height of the back row, and 1/2 meter (1.5 feet) in front of the front row. Divide the choir in thirds. Please see the diagram below.
