Reply: I'd recommend the Crown GLM-100 mini omni mic. Using the supplied clip, attach the clip to the top of the bell, and position the mic about 4 inches above the bell so that it picks up the bell and the tone holes. Put some gaffer tape or electrical tape on the clip so it doesn't scratch the sax. Wrap the mic cable around some sax hardware to provide a strain relief.
If you want to go wireless, get a Crown GLM-100E instead, and wire it to a connector that mates with your transmitter.

What's a good way to mike a sax for studio recording?
Reply: Try a CM-700 cardioid condenser mic about 1 to 1.5 feet away, about 1/3 of the way down from the top.
