I have a L.R.Baggs transducer and internal microphone mounted in my Guild D50.They are run through a L.R.Baggs Mix-Pro external pre-amp. I would like to replace the present mic with a Crown GLM-200.Where can I get a mounting kit and GLM-200? Will my Mix-Pro match the GLM requirements? Reply: The Crown GLM-200 hypercardioid condenser mic is available for about $200 and up (street price). Just do a search for GLM-200 on Froogle.com to find a dealer that you prefer. The mic comes with a 4-inch flexible wire with a clip on both ends (GLM-UM Universal Mount) and a GLM-TB tie bar. Using those two accessories, you can make a guitar mount.
Aim the FRONT of the mic toward the player, away from the strings. The word FRONT is on the front of the mic capsule. You will need to unsolder the GLM mic cable from the mic's circuit board, which is inside the XLR connector. Here's how: The Mix-Pro should be able to power the GLM-200 mic capsule through that phone plug. |
